Once upon a time, I mistakenly called Tomblyn Family Orthodontics, but since I was already on the phone, went ahead and made an appointment for myself. Fast forward 10 years, myself and my 4 kids later, Tomblyn Family Ortho has proven to be the best “accident” I’ve ever made! Every single time I bring one of my kids in, I am met with a team of happy people. Dr. T and Dr. Jen literally make you feel like you are their own me and only patient. The treatment coordinator, Chris, is so kind and very knowledgeable. She will patiently and expertly answer all my questions! I have two kids completely done with treatments and their smiles are beautiful and perfect (bc Dr. T is a perfectionist)! And I have one in braces currently and one being monitored. In all of my many appointments, I’ve never left not having had a wonderful experience. Dare I say, this is an appointment I actually enjoy taking my kids to! A beautiful smile speaks volumes and I’m so grateful for every single person at Tomblyn Family Orthodontics when I see my kids’ smile! The End!

Shady business practices and a rude, dishonest office manager. I never received treatment from Tromblyn Orthodontics, yet they claimed 100% of my benefits after only one visit. I visited them for a consult, they made a recommendation for treatment, and took impressions for trays. However, I moved out of Austin and never returned to Tromblyn for treatment. In November, I received an email stating I had an overdue balance. I called the office to inquire how I had a balance when I never received treatment. They said it was for “lab fees” associated with ordering trays. I asked if my insurance had been contacted, and they said “No, we can’t file with your insurance, because you never received treatment here.” I asked them what my options were. They said 1) I could pay the entire balance, return to Austin, and they would start my treatment with the trays as if I had never left Austin, or 2) I could transfer my account to a new orthodontist, and they would send my trays. I had no intention of returning to Austin, so I was told I needed to pay at least the $1,200 for the trays and when I was set up with a new orthodontist, they would release the trays to them. I paid the $1,200, but when my new orthodontist contacted them to transfer my account and request the trays be released, they said they would not release the trays. They had just said they would release the trays, but now that working with a new orthodontist was a reality, suddenly they won't release them. They claimed the "trays were too old," but yet had I paid the full balance and returned to Austin, they were ready to use them? My new orthodontist also ran a benefits check where they were told Tromblyn had filed and claimed 100% of my benefits after my first, and only visit. How can they claim my benefits if, in their own words, I never received treatment? Tromblyn also said they would not release the trays – even though I had paid for them. The new orthodontics staff and I both contacted the Tromblyn office to have them reverse the claim on my benefits, but they won’t return my calls or calls from my new ortho office. Tromblyn charged my insurance, took 100% of my benefits, and then charged me for trays they never released to me -- but I never received any treatment or trays from them.
